Photograph of the Week #0033

"When not scribbling away in a sketch book or dabbling on a Wacom tablet i'm invariably fiddling around with exposure settings on my Nikon D90 trying to capture moments in aesthetically pleasing ways.
So here we have "Photograph of the week" a (mostly) weekly feature showcasing my favourite photo of the week."

The Bluebells have raised their heads for spring time and I made a point of grabbing some shots of them. I tried travelling to some good spots i've been to in previous years (without a camera), where I thoguht there would be a good bluebell display but for some reason they were a total no show... I'm either too late or too early, i'm not sure yet, so i've had to make do with a small patch that I found by the side of the road.

Another spider shot from my garden. It's not in focus because there was a slight breeze and my son kept threatening to jump in the pond but I just like the colours and shapes in the image. Admittedly a better photograph would've had the spider in focus but still.

During my past attempts at photographing stars i've had various stabs at "shooting-the-moon" which i've repeatedly failed at. I looked up some tips that advised shooting the moon as if it's broad daylight, an object lit directly by the sun, as it is, so just take a manual shot with that in mind.
I'm happy with the results, finally I got a shot where you can make out the details in the moons surface.

It really does take quite small things to cheer me up.

Photograph of the Week #0030

This week something a little special happened. I wen't ahead and got married. I couldn't be happier, she's a beautiful, wonderful woman that has shared the joy of parenting an amazing, awesome little boy with me for the past two years.

Because of this my photography and work has slacked because we've been so busy sorting things out and then on the honeymoon etc. Hence why a slight lack of updates lately. Additionally my oppurtunity to shoot anything of the past few days has been slim, however I did manage to get a few totally arbitrary photographs of random stuff and to make up for the lack of updates here are three shots from on the cruise-ship we honeymooned on.
